Bomb attack in Syria: 2 soldiers lose their lives

Two gendarmerie personnel have lost their lives and eight others have been injured in a bomb attack carried out in Ras al-Ayn district in northeastern Syria, according to a statement released by the Governor’s Office of Urfa.
A bomb attack claimed the lives of two soldiers and wounded eight others in northeastern Syria yesterday (December 10).
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), two gendarmerie personnel have lost their lives and eight others have been injured in a bomb attack that was carried out in Ras al-Ayn in northeastern Syria, according to a statement released by the Governor’s Office of Şanlıurfa.
While the office stated that the attack was carried out by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK)/ People’s Protection Units (YPG), the office further indicated that an explosives-laden vehicle was detonated at one of the checkpoints of the Syrian National Army in Ras al-Ayn district.
Eight soldiers have also been injured in the attack, according to a statement by the Interior Ministry of Turkey. The wounded soldiers are reportedly in treatment in Ras al-Ayn Hospital and Ceylanpınar Public Hospital. (EKN/SD)
