An agreement to break the siege on neighborhoods in Hasaka will be implemented

The agreement to lift the siege on neighborhoods in the cities of Al-Hasakah and Qamishli entered into force in exchange for lifting the siege on the Al-Shahba and Sheikh Maqsoud camps in Aleppo, which are subject to the Autonomous Administration.

Sources reported to “Russia Today” channel that the agreement stipulates that the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) lift the siege of the two security squares under the control of the Syrian army in Hasaka and Qamishli, in exchange for lifting the siege on the camps of al-Shahba and Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo, which are subject to the self-administration by the Syrian army.

The sources confirmed the continuation of the situation as it is in Sheikh Maqsoud and the Al-Shahba camps, as the representative of the Russian side was still in the meeting in Al-Hasakah, but indicated that these data “may change within hours.”

The checkpoints were lifted and the main road was opened to allow entry and exit, and calls for a new protest were launched today in front of the Justice Palace in the city of Hasaka and in the Tayy neighborhood in the city of Qamishli to lift the siege.
