Muhammad Hikmat Walid: The solution in Syria is not through the Constitutional Committee
Abdullah Al-Ghadawi
The General Observer of the Syrian Brotherhood, Dr. Muhammad Hikmat Walid, revealed in an interview with “Syria Files” their attempts to approach the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but they did not respond and preferred to remain silent, stressing that the Brotherhood does not have a problem with the Kingdom, but rather seeks good relations.
On the Constitutional Committee, Hikmat said that the problem in Syria is not a constitutional one, and that the solution in Syria will not be through the Constitutional Committee, especially since the transitional stage stipulated in Resolution 2254 has been skipped.
He explained that the Constitutional Committee is that the problem in Syria is not a constitutional one, when it introduces a constitution today in Syria, under a dictatorship, this constitution is finished and simply violated, just as it happened when the power was transferred from Hafez Al-Assad to Bashar Al-Assad. A constitution at the time, but it was amended within a quarter of an hour, to suit the size of the new president, which means that under dictatorship, constitutions have no real value. Our withdrawal was due to our belief that the Constitutional Committee is not the way to a solution in Syria. According to the “Demistura” baskets, the first step of Resolution 2254 It begins with the transitional body, which then works on drafting a constitution and elections.
